Planning a roof replacement? Understanding the timeline helps you prepare and set expectations. Here's what Yoakum homeowners can expect during a typical roof replacement project.
Before Work Begins
Initial Consultation (Day 1)
We conduct a thorough roof inspection, discuss your options, and provide a detailed estimate. This typically takes 1-2 hours.
Contract and Scheduling (Days 2-7)
Once you accept our proposal, we order materials and schedule your project. Material availability and weather can affect scheduling—typically 1-2 weeks for standard materials.
Pre-Installation Preparation
We contact you to confirm the start date and provide instructions: move vehicles away from the house, secure outdoor items, and prepare for some noise and activity.
Installation Days
Day 1: Tear-Off and Deck Inspection
Crews arrive early, typically 7-8 AM. We set up materials, protect landscaping with tarps, and begin removing old roofing. By afternoon, the deck is exposed and inspected. Any damaged decking is replaced. Depending on roof size, new underlayment may begin.
Day 2: Installation
New underlayment, drip edge, ice and water shield in critical areas, and roofing material installation. Most residential roofs are substantially complete by end of day two.
Day 3 (if needed): Completion
Larger or complex roofs may require a third day for ridge caps, final flashing details, and cleanup.
After Installation
We conduct thorough cleanup including magnetic sweeps for nails, final inspection, walkthrough with you, and provide warranty documentation.
Weather can extend timelines. We never work on wet roofs for safety reasons and may need to wait for optimal conditions. Your roof will be protected if work spans multiple days.
